It is said that these earrings were a customized Christmas gift from William to his new wife. Kate first wore these for the royals’ annual visit to Sandringham in 2011.
From the company’s website: “Two looks in one make these earrings an irresistible buy; featuring an oval green amethyst drop surrounded by diamonds set in 18ct yellow gold, on an elegant 18ct yellow gold and diamond hoop. Wear the hoops on their own or add the drop for a stunning classic look. Build your collection of Kiki drops; they all fit on the same gold or diamond hoops.”
These earrings are made of green amethyst (this term is a misnomer.
I will be writing a post that explains more. Post can be found here) in an oval shape set in an 18k yellow gold setting. It is noticeable that the oval is arranged in a horizontal direction as opposed to a vertical direction. There are tiny diamonds surrounding the oval.
Her diamond hoops are also made of yellow gold.
You can better see the yellow gold on the hoops in this photo.
Kate has worn these quite often since Christmas 2011. Most recently, she wore them when she filmed a public service announcement addressing mental health issues in children.
The cost of these earrings is £2,600 or approximately $3,850.
