Kate likes contemporary, simple pearl jewelry. She wore these somewhat uncommon pearl earrings a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May 2012. Sidenote: I think she looks especially pretty here. I love her lipstick shade.
The closeup is from My Small Obsessions.
At first glance, it appears that these two pearls are the same size and shape. When one looks closely, it becomes apparent this is not the case. The top pearl is actually round and a little smaller than the bottom one. The bottom pearl is slightly more egg-shaped. It’s a bit more oval than the top pearl. The pearls are attached by a gold connector.
I’ve been looking for Kate’s pair (and a possible brand identification) online. It’s hard because her pair has gold connectors, many I have found have silver or black metal connectors.
Kate also wore these to Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race to the South Pole in 2012.
It was said on My Small Obsessions that Astley Clarke makes a pair that is very similar to Kate’s pair. Some believed it could be the company she purchased them from. However, Ayvee of Diana’s Jewels noted that Astley Clarke released their version after Kate was seen wearing them. Therefore, hers can’t be Astley Clarke pieces.
The earrings are sold out, but there is a picture of them up on Polyvore. You can see how similar they are.
