From the website:

“These are a wonderful pair of earrings which we find never go ‘out of fashion’.  They are easy to wear both by day and night. Comfortable to keep in the ears.  The hoops themselves are 1.5cm with the leaf hanging off each hoop being 1.5cm so in total the earrings hang 3cm from the ear hole.

You can choose from our variety of different charms if you are not so keen on the leaves eg stars, shells, pistols…   These also come in Silver (£88 for a pair) and this price (£126) is for the pair of earrings in gold plate. ”

The earrings consist of an endless gold plated hoop and a satin-finish leaf charm, also plated in gold. The leaves have a somewhat flat surface with a raised line running down the center of them. Etched into the leaves are slanted horizontal lines, giving it a more accurate depiction of leaves.

Here they are on Kate.

Rose Quartz Beaded Necklace

In 2006, Kate wore this pretty and casual pink stone necklace.

For now, I am identifying this necklace as a rose quartz one because I can see several light pink stones. It looks like there are also some light brown quartz stones on the necklace as well. If I find out more about this particular piece, I will update the post.

This style of necklace is easy to find. It’s a chunky gemstone necklace which runs kind of long (around 25″-30″). Many fashion stores sell jewelry like this.

G. Collins and Sons Tanzanite and Diamond Earrings

To match the necklace worn to the National Service of Commemoration, Kate donned these earrings.

I cannot find a stock photo from the company, but What Kate Wore managed to grab this Instagram shot from G. Collins and Sons page.

It looks like Kate’s earrings were customized from the design on the left. A triad of diamonds tops off the earrings, but Kate’s pair lacks the additional diamonds.

The earrings are made of pear shaped, faceted tanzanites encircled with small white diamonds, framing the tanzanite. It looks like this is worn as a stud earring, with the post attached directly to the earring. It could also be a clip-on.

These earrings are not for sale to the general public, but Kate’s Closet features some great replicas.

Shopping with Kate: Accessorize Haul I

During her pre-marriage years, Kate wore various jewelry pieces and accessories from this UK-based, affordably-priced company.

Luckily for us Yanks, they opened up some stores across the U.S. I went to one in Virginia and purchased a few things.

I’m in love with the gorgeous pink and black design of their shopping bags. It’s hip, chic and feminine all at the same time.

I bought three items: one necklace, one pair of earrings, and one bracelet.

I have been wanting a pair of teardrop crystal earrings like these for some time now. They are so pretty and very wearable. I wore them to work today. They also pair well with dressier outfits. I can wear them to the opera the next time I go.

Here is my new pale blue teardrop gemstone statement necklace.

I’ve been wanting to own more bracelets, so I got this blue and gold multi-chain number. It has a cute little charm with “A” on it for Accessorize.

The sales associate who rang me up was very sweet. There was a sale running at the time which allowed me 20% off if I purchased two or more items. The sales associate decided to be kind and gave me 40% off the entire purchase! I paid just under $35 for the items shown above.

I’m happy with what I bought. Every piece seems to be sturdy and well-made. I always worry about costume jewelry being shoddy and prone to falling apart, but it looks like that won’t happen with these.

Which pieces do you own from Accessorize? Is there anything you’d want to buy from them?

Blabbing About Baubles: Peridot

Today we’re talking about a gemstone I have come to be very fond of.

Peridot is a type of gem-quality olivine (olivine is a silicate mineral). Interestingly, peridot is one of the few gemstones which only exists in one color: olive green. The amount of iron in the gemstone determines how light or dark it can be.

It is found in lavas and xenoliths of the mantle. It can also be found in meteorites. It is not a rare gemstone, but it is rare to find peridot which is gem-quality. Peridot tends to be chemically unstable at the Earth’s surface, so it must be found at subterranean level.

Merci Maman The Duchess Necklace

In October 2013, Kate was seen wearing this gold plated necklace.

It was evidently gifted to her in honor of her new son, Prince George.

It features three charms: A small heart shaped charm with the letter W (presumably for William), a round charm with her son’s full name: George Alexander Louis, and a charm shaped like a small boy.

The necklace is customizable in many ways. There is a sterling silver option for those who don’t want gold, the length can be shortened or elongated, and both sides of the charms can be engraved.

Here it is on Kate.

She wore it while out shopping. I would love to see her wear this again, hopefully with a charm for Charlotte.

G. Collins and Sons Tanzanite & Diamond Pendant

At the National Service of Commemoration on March 13. 2015, Kate wore this stunning and impressive tanzanite and diamond pendant necklace.

It’s an upside-down pear shaped tanzanite set in platinum. Surrounding the center stone are small white diamonds. The chain is also platinum.

The connector section is different from the one in the company’s photo, which leads many of us to believe that Kate’s pendant is bespoke.

The price of this was £8400 at the time Kate wore it. In U.S currency it would be $12,200.
