Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier Watch

I was especially looking forward to writing this post because I think a person’s selection of watch reveals a lot about their style.

According to Diana’s Jewels, Kate’s watch is 33mm (I had initially believed it might be 36mm).

From the website: “Floating like a balloon and as blue as the cabochon safely nestled in its side, the Ballon Bleu watch by Cartier adds a dash of elegance to male and female wrists alike. Roman numerals are guided on their path by a deep blue winding mechanism. With the convex curves of the case, guilloché dial, sword-shaped hands, and polished or satin-finish links of the bracelet…the Ballon Bleu watch by Cartier floats through the world of Cartier watchmaking.”

I think this watch really suits Kate. It has a sleek and contemporary design while being neither too masculine or too feminine (she’s not as devoted to fashion as other women, so it’s expected that her choice in a watch won’t be too delicate). It goes well with various outfits and wardrobe choices. I think the choice of cool steel gray is also nice because it suits her complexion and it looks very modern.

The retail tag on this piece is about $6,050.

Cartier Trinity Necklace

Kate’s first public appearance wearing this necklace was at the National Portrait Gallery in London in 2012. At the time, she was an ambassador for the 2012 London Games. Many people viewed her choice in jewelry to be appropriate and fitting for the occasion.

The necklace features a few fine chains made of 18k gold with 4 small rose gold, yellow gold and white gold rings fitted together in an overlapping fashion. These 4 rings are positioned on the upper and middle sections of the necklace. At the very bottom is a larger ring made of the same metals. It looks like Kate’s necklace contains tiny diamonds on the rings.

I don’t think this exact necklace is available for sale from Cartier any longer. There are other versions of the Trinity necklace on their website.

The reported price of this piece is £49,000.

Kate wore it when she made a trip to NYC in 2014.
