Boodles Boxing Ball 2008 Crystal Chandelier Earrings

The information surrounding this pair of earrings is fascinating..

I say this because some people believe these earrings are a very expensive pair from famed jewelry company Tiffany’s and Co.

However, a closer look reveals that these are most likely not correctly identified by Kate watchers.

Here are the earrings Kate wore to the 2008 Boodles Boxing Ball.

At  a distance, they appear to be silvery, possibly metal.

From the shape, design and luster of these earrings, many people assumed they were the Elsa Peretti Mesh earrings.

From the photos, it looked like a really good match.

But let’s take a closer look at Kate’s earrings.

Kate’s earrings are made of tiny white crystals arranged closely together. The earring has a diamond parallelogram shape. It appears to be attached to a French hook.

Let’s see what Elsa Peretti’s earrings look like in person.

The Elsa Peretti earrings are totally different from Kate’s. On the Tiffany’s website, they look like Kate’s earrings, but in person they look more like silver mesh and not shimmery crystals.

Many of us admirers of Kate’s jewelry believe her earrings are costume jewelry. They look like crystals, not diamonds.

If I find a pair that can match these, I will update this post.

And because I adore her pink Issa dress, here is a full length shot of her entire look from the evening.

Elsa Peretti Color by the Yard Necklace by Tiffany

When Kate and William made their engagement announcement, Kate very cleverly chose blue jewelry to match her gorgeous sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Knowing that the ring was to be the main attraction, she went for a simple diamond and sapphire necklace.

Tiffany’s describes the necklace as “18k gold with a sapphire cabochon and two round brilliant diamonds.”

Here it is on Kate.
